'Eising Sun.—The drive is in 15S8ft. The ground is slightly better lor working. Tetlnriaes Proprietary.—ln tie Gordon section tie low level crosscut traversed splendid country, amongst which are small I veins of quartz of an Important character. I Tie total length of this level is 700 ft. aionowai.—The reef in the drive south maintains its width, and is very highly mineralised. No. 1 stope is producing fair cruEMng dirt. About 50 tons of .ore were eeat to the battery for treatment, giving an assay valne of £2 1/6 per ton. Albnrnia.—The reef in the drive east is 9ft wide, and carries good mineral. There is yet no sign of the footwall.

New Magnet.—The reef continues to-show gold, the stone being of a payable natura. Tie ore from No. 8 etope shows gold freely. Maratofo.—The Julia lode has narrowed into 34 Inches. Scams of sulphide showed through the stone. Better stone t exists In the roof than in the floor. Last Tuesday about 20 inches of tellurite ore showed in the hangingwall of Corbett's lode, bnt it has, since been disturbed by a hard bar of cal&te. •

JTairaa Mines.—Sloping is proceeding a$ usual on Night reef, and the rise on the western, reef is up iittt. Deep Level Cross.—The crosscut is in 699 ft. During last week alternate layers of good <>ountry and boulders, with ribs of hard country, have been met with. Goldea Cross.—The Fiery Cross reef shows a width of Tftf of'good payable ore. Considerable improvement has set in at No. 1 level. Samples of the ore gave good P*oepeots of gold in the dish. There is a block overhead intact to Cbrbett'* level, where rich ore was got in earlier days. KnrannL—ln the stope north the country Jβ improving. The reef measures cix inches and ehovre excellent bright -minerals. In the rise the ore looks w?ll for getting gold at any time. The reef is 10 inches wide. Watchman.—'About 100 tens of quarts from the City of Dcnedln reef are in the paddoct. The 'RTaterfall meef lhas been cat through, and proves to be nine feet wide. All the qnartz is of a kindly payable nature. IMxon's Consolidated.—The drive is In w*t Dixon's No. 1 reef has been stripped lor six feet and assays were reported ac follows: £5 4/io aud £10 7/2 from the foangingwall portion. 'Aleut 500 feet of the water race Iβ in position. Waitangi Consolidated.—fThe drive is m 1944 feet, and another 10 feet will complete the contract. Occidental Consolidated.—Tie drive is in ward on fflie Occidental reef is penetrating the very best country for gold. The drive on the Lioynlty reef is being cleaned ont and timbered. Kew Sylvia.—The new low level Is to 718 feet The country is hard but changeable At the battery good progress is being made. Hanrald (Reefs. — At No. 1 level fonr stopes are In progress. The reef is six inches in widSh and well mineralised. In No. 5 stope the reef is small. The rise is np 12 feet, and the reef is eight inches wide. Strong coloaci of gold have ibcen seen. The 400 ft. level is along 308 feet in conntry ol the best description. ■May Qneen. —The drive south on the reef at No. 10 reef is in SSft. TSie reef 1s now of a dark pnggy nutnre. The Exchange is a ntee-tooking leadpr, 18 inches wide. At No. 9 level, No. 4 lode, and the hijnglngwnll leader continue to show goM, add the ore Is of a payable nature. In No. 6 level quart wou from the foorwall of No. 4 lode is of fair grade, and occasionally a pound or two of picked stone is got. A drive has been started west on the Tiangingwall of No. 4 lode. The quartz has shown some nict dobs of gold.

•Fonr-in-Hand. — The old Ftmr-ln-Hand reef -has been cmt .it an intermediate betwixt Nos. 3 and 4 levels, and Is about lft. wide and encasefl vi (rood coravtry. The drive on thp reef at "No. 5 level Iras been extended 2ftft. bnt no gold has been seen on breaking down. The stoping has also been at irn intermediate betwixt Nos. 4 rend 5 levels: jroM nas shown very freely at breaking down, and about Übs. of picked stone secured.
