IS HOCKEY FIT FOR GIRLS?
"True Sport" writes: "As a disinterested onlooker. I witnessed several ladies' hockey tna-tchps on Saturday last, but a pame in particular dTew forth many comments from the spectators regarding the rough and unsportsmanlike play. The remarks from the supporters of the team in question were anything but sportsmanlike and quite out of place. I think it is a great pity that those in authority do not take steps to keep the game free from these incidents, which are already brinpring hockey, as a game for girls, into disfavour. It is unfortunate that a spirit of spite and malice creeps into girls' games, and some teams seem to take for their motto, "Win by fair means or foul." This spirit is seldom noticed in men's games, due to their true sportsmanlike qualities, which, as a rule, are lacking in girls."
