STANDARD OIL.

ITS COURSE OF PIBACT, WASHINGTON, May 17. Mr Henry George, juru, to-day delivered fl scathing criticism of the Supreme Court's decision in the Standard Oil case, which he regards as being much, in the same category as that which the same Court handed down just prior to tho Civil War in the Dred Scott case. The decision in that case had properly been described as giving the law to the North and the nigger to the South. "The Court," said Mr. George, "now appears to give the law to the people and immunity to the trusts. The Standard Oil Company can go through the form of reorganising, and then, on the plea that U is operating only in 'reasonable reetraint of trade, , continue its couree of piracy."
