The nsnal monthly meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held last evening. The Medical Superintendent (Dr. (Robertson) reported as follows: —Patients' admitted during the month, 63; discharged, 51; deaths, 2; operations," 46; at present in the hospital, 53. The new ward had been full since opened. The secretary reported that the sum of £87 6/, patient fees, had been collected, and donations amounting to £12-1/4 received. Messrs Nicholson, Irvine, Box, Jackson, and the Chairman wore appointed a house committee for the ensuing term. The secretary was authorised to apply to the Borough Council for a grant of £1500, on account of capital expenditure, and a further grant of £1500 towards' the maintenance of the hospital for the year ending March 31st, 1912. Accounts amounting to £560 were passed for payment. The Chairman, on behalf of the Board, wished Dr. Kobertson, who was present, a pleasant trip and s safe return. The price of gas from the municipal gas worts has been reduced from 8/4 to 7/6 for lighting,' and from 6/8 to C/ 2 for cooking and power, commencing from to-day. Waihi now has a cheaper service than any other ttrwa in the province outside Auckland. . .
