INTER-STATE CONTEST.
SYDNEY, December 4. In the inter-State, match between New South Wales and South Australia, the former's first innings totalled 195. Wright took five wickets for 75 and Chamberlain two for 18. South Australia, whose first innings produced 342, have foxir wickets down for 209 in their second innings, Mayne 28, Dolling 67, Hill not out 90, being the chief scorers. Hill's innings created great interest. He went at the bowling freely, and hit 14 fours, four consecutively off Scott.
