The "Montreal Gazette" states that Sir Wilfrid Laurier will probably resign in the autumn, and make a subsequent educational tour on the navy question through Quebec, Ontario, and other provinces. As a result of the navy debate, contracts have been hastened for four cruisers of the Bristol class, and six torpedoboat destroyers of the river class. Oil fuel is to be used for both. The completion of the programme will cost £2,000,000. FARMERS AND THE NAVY. HARVEST OF THE SEA. (Received 8.5 a.m.) OTTAWA, December 4.
