Matters are progressing favourably for the DiirgavtUe Horticultural and Industrfal Show, which takes place on Saturday next, and a fine dispJuy is anticipated. The show it? going to prove a record one. The Te Kopurn mill continues to work double shifts in order to fulfil requirements. Another large steamer is expected at an early data. At the last meeting of the Te Kopnru School Committee, it was reported that another girl had just about completed eight years' full attendance at school. It Is now stated that no lesa than five of the children will have file record. Last year the ■ committee gave gold memorial brooches to two girls, and the Education Board awarded special certificates to tfcem for this record. If this procedure is followed In future, the funds may be unduly strained.
