HfiKDINO TO MEET HILL. In response to the invitation extended to Harding, of Napier, by the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club "to meet 0. H. Hill, of Auckland, over a distance of lOOOvds at the chrb carnival on December 3, Harding- wired that he did not think h<> could obtain the necesary leave. The matter was taken in. hand by the club, and representations "were made by Mr. Al- J. Sheahan, one of tie vice-presidents, to the Minister of Lands, witi the result that ihe leave hae nowbeen granted. Harding states, he i& in splendid form, and a≤ TTill is doing a thorough preparation, the meeting of the two cracks should -be a memoraible one.
