AMUSEMENTS.

"THE BEIXTO3J BDEGLAEY. ,,

A welcome revival of The Brixton Burglary 1 ' closed the Auckland season of the Fred. Graham Comedy Company last evening, and thie clever little playlet, mdth its numerous interpolated songs and dances, and its innumerable opportunities for droll gagging, will take a brief tour in the Waikato. It will be seen on Wednesday in Cambridge, and on Thursday and Friday in Hamilton. It is an jimrarrng little show, bright, dean, and .wiholesome, and may be re-

commended as a certain cure for the bluee. Mr. Graham and Mrs. George Tfl-uri are particularly well suited with parts which enable them to exploit to the full ttheir -well-known powers as comedians, and they are admirably backed up by the rest of the clever company. FULLER'S PICTURES. A large audience witnessed the second production of ithe current programme of Fuller's Pictures at the Opera House last night, the diverse and interesting list cf scenic, dramatic and humorous studies meeting with the heartiest approval of patrons. The programme will be repeated ito-nigM. WEST'S PICTURES. An admirable diversity of interest marks the new programme presented at the Royal Albert HalL '"Nantes and Its Surroundings" is a very fine scenic study. "West's Gazette," .the boy scout display in Centennial Parj£, Sydney, is very interesting and of great value to our own boy scouts. The comic films are particularly amusing, and cause much merriment. The roof garden is much appreciated at the intervals for fresh air and refreshments. TTVOLI THEATRE. The Tivoli Theatre Vaudeville Company continues to attract toig audiences, •pa-trons evidently appreciating tie fare provided. THE AMERICAN THEATRE. The continuous picture show in the Fedezal Hail appears to have "caught on," having been well patronised last evening. The programme is repeated about every hour and a-hajf, and up to about 9 pjm. one can enter and see the complete set. The entire programme is changed tri-weekly. THE RINKS. The management of the Windsor Rink have decided ±o close the present season on Saturday next. At to-morrow evening's session the prizes -won at the fancy dress carnival last Wednesday iwill be presented. < The Glideaway Rink corrtinues to be the rendezvous of a large section of roDer-skating enthusiasts. On Friday next a grand fancy dress carnival will be held at the rink. AUCKLAND COMPETITIONS SOCIETY. On Monday next at His Majesty's Theatre the Auckland Competitions Society will open their first musical abd elocndaonary 'festival, and that event is arousing great public interest and enthusiasm. This festival is on eueh a large scale that Southern competitors who have already arrived to take part can hardly believe that it is the Society's first venture, and they ore loud in their praise of the complete arrangements made, the comprehensive classes to select from and the unprecedented amount of prize money and trophies provided. The festival wall ran for six days—morning, afternoon, and evening— the preliminary .trials being done at the day sessions, and the finals reserved for the evening, which means that only the three best in each class will be privileged to appear in the finale. Included among the large number of competitors are many gold medallists from other centres, and it will be interesting to see how the best of local talent will fare against them. There is keen sense of rivalry among competitors, and the deciding finals should evoke the greatest enfchnsiasni. With so many excellent programmes (27 in all), it is difficult to single ouf; one that is better than the rest; they are of such a varied nature that each night -win provide a, most excellent entertainment. Of eourae, the two choir nights and the final of the public debate will probably receive the meet popular support, and the final demonstration night, with only first prize winners appearing, seating accommodation in His Majesty's Theatre should be taxed to its utmost. Owing to the extension of the closing date for entries, the official programme will not ■be available until Thursday morning, and its appearance has been eageriy waited for. The box plan of reserved eeats is now oipen at Wildman and Arey's, and is filling rapidly, so that those who -wish to make certain of their seats will do veil to make early application.
