A ROYAL TOUR.
KING AND THE DOMINIONS. COURTS OVERSEAS. LOSTDOISr, November 12. The hint that King George might tour the Empire, which was given by the Duke of Connaught at the inauguration of the South African Union Parliament, has raised various expectations and speculations. In commenting on the matter the •Times" suggests that in order to differentiate between visits paid as Prince of Wales or Duke of York and as Sovereign, the King and Queen might hold Court in the capitals of the various dominions, but not in the States or provinces. Extensive tours or any a semblance of a Royal progress wotud, it is considered, be inadvisable. In the case of the Australian Commonwealth, the "Times" says that inasmuch as the projected Federal capital would be unsuitable for holding a Court, it would doubtless be necessary to hold one at Sydney and another at Melbourne. TITLES DECLINED BY BOTHA AND SMUTS. (Received 9.30 a.m.) CAPETOWN, November 13. It is stated that both Mr. Louis Botha and Mr. J. C. Smuts declined to accept titles offered by the Duke of Connaught.
