WELSH COAL RIOTS.

'FIGHTING BRIGADES" FORMED TO PROTECT WOMEN AND CHILDREN. BOTCOTTING THE POLICE. (By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, November 13. Charles Statons, a Socialist leader of Aberdare, is forming fighting brigades from various pits to defend the women ' and children from police attacks. A meeting of strikers ratified the formation, and decided to boycott everybody assisting the police and the military, or providing them with provisions. In response to an appeal for assistance from Mr. Llewellyn, manager of the Cambrian mines, the Anti-Socialists' Union of Great Britain has dispatched a number of voluntary stokers to the coalfields. Forty stokers from Cardiff have arrived at the Llynpia colliery, and are working under police protection. It is estimated that it will take two months to clear one section of the mine of water. The Strike Committee telegraphed to Mr. Winston Churchill (Home Secretary) that unless the "blacklegs" were withdrawn there would undoubtedly be_ bloodshed. The machinery at the Tonyfair mines, where a strike has been proceeding since September, came to a sudden standstill yesterday, due to the strikers expelling the enginemen and stokers. Water haa invaded the workings, and it has been decided to import labour. The police in South Wales cancelled football matches to prevent crowds gathering, fearing that violence might follow. BOILERMAKERS' TROUBLE. MEN GETTING OUT OF HAND. (Received 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 13.
