MOUNT ALBERT LOAN.
LOiN PROPOSALS CAERIEID. The proposal to raise a loan of £30,000 for improvements in various parts of the Mount Albert district was put to a poll on Saturday, and was approved by more than a five .to one majority. The loan is required for the following objects; —• (1) Extension, of water supply and construction of new reservoir, £3,230. (2) Jiorniation and kerbing. and channelling of New North-road from ■Dβ-minion-road to proposed tram-ways' terminus at Morningside, £5,700. (3) Formation and kerbing and chan> nelling of New North-road in connection rith proposed overhead railway bridge at Morningside crossing, £2jOOO. (4) Contribution to Railway Department as .part cost of altering line at crossing at Morningside, £700. (5) formation and kerbing and «hanneling of Kjngsland-road from New North-road to Edendate-road, £4,665. (<>) formation work in Mountain-road,. £575. (7) Formation woric,.Onehunga.-Mount Albert-road, £1,600. (8) 'Sewer connections -with ArchhiH gully sewer,. £400. (9) Footpaths and' sundry formation, work, £1,000. (10) Contingencies,, engineering, etev, £3,830. The proposed security to be offered is a, special rate of one halfpenny in the £ on the «i.pifcal .value of all mtaMe properties in the district, covering interest and sinking fund, payable in 73 equal haif-yeaTjy instalments, the term of the loan ibeing 36J years. '
The <voting- -at Saturday's poQ was;— •For the proposal, 408; against, 80? informal, 9. Only 497 -ratepayers owt oi a roU of 1,550 exercised 'feeir right to vote. Mr H. TTtting, clerk to the Road •Board, aetrii as returning officer, and declared the proposal carried.
