RECORD MILE FLIGHT.
WHITE'S EXCITING DAY. NEW YORK, October 15. M. Le Blanc, the French aviator, aeroplaned a mile in 53 seconds at St. Louis. This is a world's record. Mr. Grahame White, the English aviator, flew from White House over the Capitol, and received the congratulations of Admiral Dewey and others. Mr. Grahame White was flying over Benning's race track when a tank pipe broke, and compelled him to descend hurriedly. During a second flight the monoplane swerved and struck a fence, and the aviator was shaken.
