CIVIL SERVANTS' SALARIES.
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Replying to a, suggestion that the lower | paid officials in the public service wexe j overlooked when increased, salaries were under consideration, Sir Joseph Wa~rd stated in the House of Representatives that last year 5901 employees earning I under £200 had received increa-ses, 772 j between £200 and £300, 124 between £lioo and £ 400, 10 between £500 and £fIOO, seven between £000 and £700, two between £700 and £800, and four over £800. This year the position of increases was—B344 under £300, 106 between £300, and £4CO, 23 between £500 and £ 000 ; 10 between £000 and £700, one between £700 and £800. and three over £800.
