EVADING THE CUSTOMS. <By Telegraph.—tress Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Following upon the prosecution of the fourth officer of the Tura- . kina for harbouring uncustomed jewellery, another seizure took place on the same vessel on Saturday, and, at the Magistrate's Court to-day, Alexander Taylor, engineroom storeman, was fined £15. The line was subsequently reduced to £3 15/ on a charge of harbouring uncustomed drapery of the value of £5. NEW TRIAL ORDERED. WELLINGTON, Sunday. After a hearing lasting three days, the divorce case Frank Evans v. Fanny Evans and Huntly Eliott was concluded at the Supreme Court fialf-an-hour after midnight on Saturday. The jury failed to agree, and a new trial was ordered.
