A BROKEN HILL PARADOX.
THE PRICE OF BREAD. WORKERS STRIKE FOR DfCREASE. (Received 9.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The Broken Hill operative bakers and bread carters have struck work. The brought about through the efforts of the combined unions to fix the price of bread at such a figure as to enable their co-operative bakery to make a profit. They wished it raised from 3d to 4d the two pound loaf. The masters held out and refused to make the increase. The masters are doing as much work as possible. No question of wages or hours is involved.
