ACCUSED IN COURT. (By Telegraph. — Press Association.) DUXEDIN, Friday. The charges arising out of last Saturday night's disturbance came before Mr Bartholomew in the City Police Couri to-day. The first case called on vra: that against Charles Graham, who was charged with assaulting Sergeant Ecele: and Constable Sweeney, and also witl assaulting Constable Fox. Sub-Inspector Phair said he did nol propose to call any evidence after goinj into the history of the disturbance. H< said that the constables, on thinking th< matter over, afterwards had some doubl in their minds ac to whether they hac really re-arrested the right man, anc consequently they did not feel justifiec in going further with the matter. The charges against Graham were ac cordingly withdrawn, the magistrate re marking that he had been the victim o: circumstances. John Wilson was fined 5/-, or 2s hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness sentenced to one month's imprisonmen for using obscene language, and to tw( ■months' imprisonment for resisting thi police, the sentences to be concurrent. I David Wilson was sentenced to on< month's imprisonment for obscene lan ' guage and to two months' imprisonment on each of the other charges againsl him, the sentences to be concurrent.
