PASSENGERS CARRIED ON.

THE VICTORIA PASSES NAPIER. (By Telegraph. — Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. Passengers from Gisborne and Auckland for Napier by the Huddart Parker liner Victoria were brought on to Wellington to-day, instead of landing at theii port of destination. It is alleged that the facilities for receiving the Victoria at the Napier wharf were inadequate, and that Captain Entwisle decided, after twc lines had "broken, not to land passenger: or cargo, but to come direct to Wellington. The Victoria arrived at Napier at seven a.m. from Gisborne, which port she left the previous evening. Those passengers for Napier who did not take rail from Wellington had flieii passages arranged for by the Union Company's s.s. Navua, leaving this evening for Auckland, via Napier and Gis'borne.
