SO-CALLED HOUSE BUILDING.
, (To the Editor.) Sir, —I crave a small space in your valuable columns for the above. On passing dawn a street in the Mt. Roskill district I noticed a house under construction with studs absolutely perforated -with the borer, only fit for the furnace. They were put in place where it was possible to cover with lining and weatherboards. It is probalbly meant for sale at, say, £25 or £50 deposit, •balance easy terms. We don't expect for one moment any sane man "would build or cause to be built a house oi such timber for himself. My reason for drawing, attention 'to this is because I thought a Building Inspector was appointed io prevent such work. If thero is not, then I think it quite time one was appointed.—l am, etc., PASSER BY.
