CALL TO ROSLYN.
c ACCEPTED BY REV. W. GRAYDIXOK At the meeting of the Auckland Presbytery last night, the clerk intimated that the Rev. W. Gray-Dixon had received practically a unanimous call to the church at Roslyn. Resolutions were submitted from the congregation of St. David's, stating that while deeply regretting the loss of the services of such a good minister, who enjoyed their fullest confidence, they did not wish to raise any objection. Most eulogistic references were made by various speakers to the culture, ability and faithfulness of Mr. Gray-Dixon, by the representatives of St. David's Church and other member- of the Presbytery. Rev. G. B. Moriio said Rev. Gray-Dixon would find loyal Presbyterians, to support him at Roslyn. He stated that at the meeting at which the call was made there were 113 members and 35 adherents present, and all signed. Rev. W. Gray-Dixon thanked those present for the friendly and brotherly references that had been made to him. He declared his strong attachment to Auckland and the Auckland Preshytery. He said he had never sought another charge, but he felt that Dunedin was the most Presbyterian city in New Zealand, and Roslyn was considered an ideal sphere. He was, therefore, prepared, to accept the call. On the motion of Rev. Sonieyville, the call was placed in the hands of Mr. Gray-Dixon, who intimated his acceptance of it. The motion was then- passed, agreeing to dissolve tho pastoral tie with St, David's Church, Auckland. Mr. L. J. BaS* #ft_i from the civic side be could say Mr. Gray-Dixon was most highly thought of by citizens outside the Presbyterian Church. The motion was then agreed to, a*u*. the Rev. I. Jolly was appointed to moderate at s{. David's.
