EARL BEAUCHAIWP JOINS CABINET.
AS PRESIDENT OF TES COTTNCJX. (Received 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, June 16. It is officially announced that Earl Beauchamp has succeeded Viscount Wolverhampton as Lord President of the Council. Earl Beauchamp is well remembered m Australasia as Governor of New South Wales from 1899 to 1901, during •which time he paid a lengthy visit to Sew Zealand. He is 38 years of age, and was married eight years ago to lady Lettia Grosvenor, daughter of the late Earl Grosvenor. He is a. wealthy peer, awning over IS,OOO acres. Lord Beauchamp nas always taken a seriou3 view of his duties in life, and has been a Tegular attendant at the House of Lords, contributing frequently to the debases. He has not previously held Ministerial lank, and a call direct to the Cabinet is a remarkable achievement in so young «. peer.
