Wimmera was scratched for all events at the Hawke's Bay Winter Meeting today. ■■—«—^«. _____ A -wharf labourer named "Vincent, of Bixkenhead, had just finished "work, and was preparing to leave the steamer Sussex late la«t night, when he fell dawn a hold- He received injuries to his head and back, but nothing of a serious nature, was reported by the Hospital authorities to-day to be much, improved.
