ARCH HIM, ROAD BOARD. A meeting of the Arch Hill Koad Board was held on Monday. There were present: Messrs J. Hawkins (chairmau), Jno. Ewan, J. N. C. Somervell, C. B. Wheeler, <uid A. G. Walker. Board's Finances.—.The secretary submitted a statement stowing the financial position of the Bosrrd. The estimated total revenue was set down at £705, expenditure for remainder of enrreut year, £632; amount already expended, £IS9; and overdraft for end of year, £275. -The report was received. Keppel-street.—Two complaints were received regarding the condition of Keppelstreet. It was decided thnt certain necessary work should be proceeded with. Holiday Leave.—The clerk (Mr J. Franklin) was granted two weeks' holiday leave, to be taken before the next meeting. Accounts. —Accounts amounting to £71 13/11' were passed for. payment. WAITEMATA LODGE U.A.0.D., Ko. 44. The half-yearly meeting was held in Ponsonby Hall, Jervois-rd., on Monday, June 6, 1910, Bro. J. Botterill. A.D., presiding. The half-yearly balance-sheet and auditors' report were read and adopted. They showed that the lodge was in a sound financial position. During the evening a presentation was made to retiring Past Arch Bro. Wm. A. Knox -of a handsome painted Past Arch's diploma-, by the D.P., Bro. J. McIntosh. Bro. Knox suitably replied. The Rev. Howard Elliott presented his report on the United Mission conducted by Dr. Henry. Votes of thanks -were accorded to him for his work as secretary. It was decided to consider the report at next meeting. ■-.' 'HOSPITAL AN!D /TTTAWJ-TA-RT.Tn: AID. The ordinary meeting of the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board held last evening, was atiteuded by Messrs P. M. M-ackay (•chairman), F. J. H BUisdon, M. 3. Coyle, J, S; Dlcksou, J. Jenkin, P. J. Nerheny, E. H. Potter, H. Schofleld, J. G. Rutherford, F. Dye, and Dr. Guinness. Finance Committee.—The Finance Committee recommended that the first shipment of crockery, according to sample, to 'be selected by the lady superintendent and hospital, secretary, be indebted by the Board through agents in Auckland, at a commission of flve per cent, and that afterwards the Board consider the question of inviting tenders to supply the like material on a three years' contract; that tenders for generals supplies be called at once. Accounts amounting to £1182 1/S were recommended for payment. The report was adopted. Laundry Work.—The Costley Home Corfimittee recommended that the Board should provide a laundry ai the hospital, as the : greater part of the labour employed was i hired, and might be aa well or better employed at the hospital itself. In the mean- ■ rime the Corivmlttee had engaged an expert for a fortnight to instruct the head laundress. Tno report was adopted.
