PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday. rnfT* lk s Wa ! re " tried at the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Cooper, on the charge of robbery under arms at Kendall s on wlueh the jury at last trial laiJed to agree. The jury viewed the scene of the robDeiy. and after a retirement of four lours returned a verdict of not guilty, adding a rider that they had no doubt that the Kendalls were held up. but that the identafication was not sufficient Sentence on all the charges proved against Powelka and on those he pleaded guilty to will be passed on Wednesday morning.
