WAIHL this day. Recently Mr. Poland wrote on behalf of A Macfcaytovm syndicate to the Minister of Mines urging that the time for production of quicksilver to enable the bonus to be secured be extended for one year. The Minister has notified Mr. Poland that the extension has been approved. The extension for a year is a big concession, and if the Mackaytowo find turns out genuine it means the payment of £1666 13/4 by the Government. The bonus payable is fourpence per pound on the production of the first IGO.OOOIb of retorted quicksilver. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS.
