| FAXII-.L3-. The Parnell Borough Council met last night Present: The Mayo* (Mr. R. S. Briggs) and - Messrs. J. ■•' Cohnell, R. Isaacs, C. Palmer, J. E. Lundon, F. Fitt, W. Thomas, G. Foster, and W. Johns. -. The Carnegie Library.—Mi-. W. B. Herrbld, the successful al-chit— t in the competitive designs for the proposed Carnegie library building, wrote to state that although, there were no conditions in force as to architects guaranteeing 'the cc3t of work, he was prepared to give the guarantee asked for that, the building would not cost more than £2500 to erect, provided the j work was proceeded with at once and cer- : I tain other conditions were observed by the Council;— The matter was referred to the Library Committee. ■ -,- ■ ~ Power-box.—Councillor Fltt reported that, the manager of the Electric Tramways Co. had. told him'that the e——rle power-box in . .-the Manukau-rpad, opposite ..,-/Martin's stables, w ; as to be immediately, removed.
