A NEW ORGAN.

■' A concert In connection with the opening ' of a new organ was held in the Eden Terrace Primitive Methodist Church on Thursday evening. Mr. Wiseman ably officiated at the organ, and gave several selections, which proved, the Instrument to be possessed ,of much sweetness of tone. Songs were given by Misses Sill, Lambourne, and Harves, and Messrs. C. Prime and Atkinson. Instrumental items were given by the Misses Probert and Messrs. C. Phillips and Munro. All the Items were excellently .rendered and heartily received. ... .. .

MATFJELD SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The annual prize distribution took place nt the schoolroom on Friday evening, when there was a large attendance of parents and friends. A good programme of musical items, recitations, solos, etc.,. was rendered by the scholars, Including a humorous dialogue by the elder scholars, entitled "Bashful - John -o' Blunders," which was very creditably performed, and much appreciated by the audience. The Hey. Smith, vicar of Northcote, presented the prizes to the number of between CO' and 70. During the evening „ presentation of a silver teapot was made} .to Miss Hall, who has .been, connected with the school for some years, ' ; on' the occasion fof her - approaching marriage, Mr Runciman making the presentation In a bright . and humorous speech. The superintendent (Mr A. M. Wilson), in the course of his remarks, said that they were very proud indeed of the Sunday School, which was a credit to the district, the attendance and general conduct of the ! scholars being very good. Refreshments —followed by a well-sung solo by Miss G. I Gooch—concluded the. programme.
