GUN PRACTICE ON SUNDAYS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I wish to correct a mistake in last Wednesday's correspondence. Mr. J. Earle has misread "Churchman's"remarks re above, and uses the words "Saints' Days" instead of "Holy Days," which is entirely a different thing. If Mr. Earle will consult a clergyman he will no doubt be told the vast difference. Christmas Day, Good Friday, Easter Day, Ascension Day, and Whitsunday are "Holy Days," and are far more important than a Sunday. There are dozens of "Saints' Days" on which neither "Churchman" nor any other man would expect any suspension of gunnery practice.——l am, etc., CHUIIOHMAN.
