STRUCK DEAD BY LIGHTNING.
MELBOURNE, February 7. Cyril Thompson (17) was struck by j lightning during a thunderstorm, which passed over the Epping district last night. Deceased had driven his parents from church to the family home at Bun-1 doora Settlement. At the gate, leaving ' his parents in the buggy, he ran through the rain to unlock the coachhouse door. As he was some time gone, his father got out of the vehicle, and went towards the coachhouse, and half-way discovered his son lying upon the footpath dead. A brilliant flash of lightning had occurred a few minutes previously, and evidently the lad had been struck. He was badly burnt on the face and body. i
