(Continued from page 5.) THAMES WARDEN'S COURT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) THAMES, this day. Id the Warden's Court this morning, the following applications were granted:— Monowal Co., protection for aerial tram, machine site, special site, etc.; May Queen Co., protection for four months for May Queen East claim; Tairua Dawn Co., protection for four months for Dawn of Hope; E. V. Turnbull and S. Adams, protection for Sylvia No. 2. The following applications were recommended: -Arlndell Syndicate, protection for water race, special claim, etc.; G. A. Dougnll, protection for New Gloucester; K. Worth, license for Goldwin claim; Monowal Co., protection for Monowal Deep Gem and Crown claims; Waitangi Consolidated, license for Waitangi claim. Many applications were adjourned.

The May Queen Co. applied for protection for the Queen of Beauty. Old Cardigan, and water race. It was stated that as soon as the water was lifted from the shaft, which work will be completed next month, operations at the thousand feet would be vigorously proceeded with. Two months' protection was granted. The May Queen Co. was also granted permission to work the Moanatalarl, which is now- a separate company, with eight men for four months. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. Walhl Beach.—The manager reports that he cannot keep the shaft going much longer with the present machinery. About 20,000 gallons of water has to be lifted now, and it Is probable there may be further Increase as tho work proceeds. If a 20,000----gallon pump was installed, it would probably not be equal to what will be required. The main reef has never been opened up at the sea level, and It could be economically tested by driving from the face of the cliff, at which point there are about 200 ft of backs. The manager advises that the shaft be abandoned for the present, and an adit level put In a little above the sea level. Bonanza.—The low level Is in 235 ft, and Is still penetrating good country. Water Is still flowing from the face. Mount Zeehan.—ln the drive north, the reef still maintains Its size, and although the country Is firmer, owing to the presence of flinty veins, the manager thinks the altered conditions will account for the improvement In the reef. In the aouth end on the footwall lode, sinking was continued, and some nice-looking quartz broken out during the week, showing rich-looking values.
