HARBOUR BOARD.
The Harbour Board met in Committee this afternoon, when there were present: Messrs A. J. Entrlcan (chairman), H. Bradney, G. W. Basley, W. J. Napier, A. Keyes, H. M. Smeeton, J. H. Gunson, Captain McKenzie, J. B. Msicfarlane.
Pilots.—A letter from the Harbours' Association was read regarding the liability of boards for the acts of pilots. The letter was forwarded to the Board's solicitor to report. "
Paremoremo (District.—A petition was presented praying that a wharf be erected on the Paremoremo side of the river. Mi Bradney said the wharf would be a great benefit to the sett.lers. but the question was whether the Board should build the wharf. On the motion of Mr Napier, It was decided that no action be takeu.
Queen-street Wharf.—The Engineer reported on the progress of works at Queenstreet wharf. With rpgard to tie susgestlon that the ferry office be moved to the western side of No. 2 tee, Mr Hnmer reported thnt it woud cost £600 to £700, and he couia not recommend It. The matter was referred to Messrs Bradney, McKenzie, Keyes, and JCapler to report upon.
