PROPERTY SALES.
There wns a fnlr attendance at Mr J Thornes - Auction Rooms to-da.v, when properties at Drur.v, Avondaie, and Great Barrier Island were offered at anction. The property nt I>rury. which consists of 138 acres, containing a stone quarry and a bed of fire-clay, produced bids up to £3 per acre, bat the owner declined to part with the property for less than £4 per acre. An allotment at Avondaie, situated near the station, produced bids of 30/ per foot at which price it wne withdrawn. The land at Great Barrier wns 60ld by order of the Public Trustee. For 299 acres the bidding progressed nt £5 bids from £70 to £15oT at which price it wns sold. 223 ncres on the same island, and held under occupation with right of purchase, was knocked down at £37 10/.
The following properties had been sold toy Messrs Saurael Vaile and Sons up to the time of our going to press:—lso acres, being lot 1. of section 30, block 1., Meungnru, Northern aWiroa, good land, grassed and fenced, sold for £600. 806 acres, lot 2, section 36, of the same 'block, In grass and bush, and In which good stenm coal has been discovered, went at £2 12/6 per a;re. A 7-roomed villa in Robinson-street, Cambridge, to which over 11 acres of rich land are attached, sold for £575. A twostoreyed 8-roomed house in College Hill was passed in at £600.
