A lad of 12 years n.imed Eric Greenhough., made a plucky effort at Sentinelroa* , *seach, Ponsonby, yesterday afternoon, to rescue Mr. Henry Jennings, who struck the sea bottom when diving, and was in danger of drowning. The boy swam out to him, and held up bis head for several minutes until three young nien put off in a pulling boat and completed the rescue. The lad, who had a tough, struggle to keep his man afloat, was almost exhausted when he reached the shore, to receive the well-merited applause of a number of people who witnessed his pluck action. Mr. F. S. Pope, Secretary for Agriculture, Commerce, and Tourist Department, left for Waerenga Experimental Farm this morning, and will proceed tonight to Ruakura Experimental Farm. Mr. E.
