EEPLY TO OTAGO ASSOCIATION. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, tins aay. Otago and Southland. Tobacco and Distributing Association telegraphed to the Prime Minister, objecting to the •method by ■which it is proposed to collect primage duty. Sir Joseph replied: "I regret that I am unable to comply ■with your suggestion. Whatever course is followed entails difficulties. The only other way is to place duty on articles now on the free list, and this I cannot see my way to do."
