SOUTH AUSTRALIAN WRECK.
3TO HOPE OP SALVAGE. SUVA, October 22. The South Australian struck the reef at Wallis Island, at three a.m. on October 6. She was refloated 24 hours later, and steamed to the anchorage, but was found to be leaking badly at the stern-post, and had to be beached. The third engineer slates that the vessel is so badly damaged that it would be useless to try to repair her. The cargo has been landed. SYDNEY, October 22. The South Australian was insured in the United Company. The cargo was also covered in Sydney offices.
