UNWELCOME ATTENTIONS. .__ LYTTELTON, this day. At the Police Court to-day John Bailey was committed for sentence to the 3upreme Court for burglary with intent to commit a crime. The evidence showed that Bailey had been pursuing a girl with unwelcome attentions for a considerable time, and on Wednesday morning attempted to break into her bedroom by the window. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The annual meeting of the Canterbury chamber of Commerce to-day was a jubilee one, the Chamber having been formed if Lyttelton in 1859 with 30 members. When settlement extended over the Port tills to Christchurch, the headquarters were reriioved to the city, and the name if the Chamber changed to Canterbury, rhe Chamber is now one of the strongest ia the Dominion.
