A CORRECTION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In my letter which you published last evening I intended, it to read that profits made by the "use" of land can safely be bought and sold. The word •'rise" was substituted for *'use," which alters the position and conveys a different idea. A person may make a rise oi»t of the other fellow, while the land i may not be required for use ior years ■ to come. In the meantime, the interest I has to be paid, while the land, by use, I is not made to earn that interesj. We ] are creating a spurious fund to main- j tain drones and prodqeing nothing to feed ■ and clothe the drones; hence it is not i safe to buy and sell land on the basis of a "rise" made out of the other fellow, j This gambling in land brings uatold i misery on thousands of people, and only a few in the end succeed.—l am, etc., A. SANTORD.
