ONLY THREE WOMEN SAVED
GALLANT BLUEJACKETS. (Received 8.40 a.m.) MONTE VIDEO, August 25. Only three women were saved from the Colombia. Seven of the rescued died after being landed, bringing the total of lives lost to 87. Bluejackets from the British cruiser Amethyst showed great gallantry. They j rowed across through the heavy seas in ! the ship's boats, and rescued many from '■ the water.
