STANLEY BAY WHARF.
A deputation of Stanley Bay residents, consisting of Messrs. W. Handley, J. B. GiMUan, J. Alexander, G. Gribbin, O. W. Sanders, and J. W. White, -waited on the Harbour Board yesterday afternoon with a view to placing before the Board the question of improved wharf accommodation at their district. It was claimed that the jetty was too narrow, and there was no provision for the carriage 'of goods, as no vehicle could be taken along the wharf. They asked that the Width 'be increased to 20 feet, also that a breakwind be erected, and that the wharf be shortened, and the passage to it deepened. 1
Mr. Handley explained that residents had subscribed £600 towards the cost of the present wharf.
Subsequently, Mr. W. J. Xapier presented a petition upon this matter, which was referred to the Board in committee.
