TE AROHA
A meeting of settlers on the Walton Estate was held ln the schoolhouse to discuss the proposal of the drainage board to raise a loan of £6000. The action of the Board In various matters was the subject of some comment by various speakers, and Mr T. Mclndoe moved, and Mr Mark Harrison seconded, a motion cnlllng upon the Board to resign, but the chairman declined to accept it. Strong exception was taken to the Board's proceeding with the loan until a scheme of classification had been adopted, but the chairman salil the Board intended to classify, »nd would have the classification made long before the first became due. The uniform rate of 5-6 d, which it was intended to levy now, was merely in accordance with law, as security for the loan, but would never be collected.
