DEVONPORT FERRY.

The Devonport Steam Ferry Company have decided to build and run a vehicular and cargo steamer between Auckland and Devonport, on certain conditions. These conditions the Company communicated to the Harbour Board in a letter which was dealt with at to-day's meeting. The Company requires the Board to undertJßb: (1) To provide the .necessary accommodation and facilities to enable the cargo steamer to. be effectively used in running between Auckland and Devonport and Birkenhead; (2) That -the accommodation and facilities for the Auckland-pevonport trade shall be ready for use by 3lst October next; (ft) That the necessary accommodation at Birkenhead -will be provided as speedily as possible.
