CHILDREN'S CELEBRATIONS. FIFTEEN MILLIONS ASSIST. (Received 8.40 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. Including 18,000 schools, with nearly four million scholars, in the United Kingdom, it is estimated that 15 million children celebrated Empire Day throughout the Empire. Five thousand boys marched along the Embankment to Hyde Park, carrying 56 flags of the dominions and colonies, 18 bands being included in the procession. The Union Jack was saluted at Reformers' Tree, where the colonial colours were trooped. The celebrations in the provinces were more general than in previous years.. A civic lead was given in Glasgow for the first time, and the Empire was toasted at a municipal "banquet. The schools of Shepperton, Middlesex, received a Union Jack and other gifts from the State school in Shepperton (Victoria). Unprecedented enthusiasm was shown throughout Canada. Earl Grey, Gover-nor-General, addressed the cadets at Toronto.
