MAN DROWNED IN A LAKE.

Two young men who reside at Musselburgh, and whose names are given as Wilson James Morris and George Kempton, went out in a '&a*tie" on Lake Waihola this mornin*. the water wa» rough, with the high tide, and presently ithe boat upset, and threw the occupants into the water. They clung to the side of the craft, which turned over several times, and then Kempton disappeared. The accident was observed by the stationmaster (Mr. T. Cockburn), and with his assistant (Mr. A. Bambery) he went out in a small boat to the rescue. They reached the scene just in time to save Morris, who was quite exhausted. Kempton, whose body has not yet been recovered, was about 18 years of age.
