It-is pleasing to note the increases arc chiefly iri.7 the stock classes. Under the heading miscellaneous tho-only increase is jiirie. The following figures show the entries last year and' this "respectively: Horses' "(608), 697; cattle (277), 270 r-..sheep, (200), 237; pigs, (45b 61; miscellaneous,- {4381, 477-^ttitals,.last year 1568; % this year, 1712. There is aii increase in every class but cattle.: When-the-entrles "from "the"whble„pF the agencies arrive* they will be.exceeded. The opening of *Jhe. Main Trunk railway has assisted exhibits ■"coming from' JTapier, Manawatu, and all -down the>lines. Everything be- . tokens an unprecedented success.'
