COHMONWEALTH COPYRIGHT. .(Received 8.35 a.m.) LONDON, March 1. Lord Tennyson, delegate from the Common-wealth of Australia to the International Copyright Conference, states that the provisions of the Australian Act requiring the registration of works puolislied abroad and their possible binding m Australia is essentially opposed to the new convention, and is a mere irritating formality, depriving many works of the copyright to which they would otherwise be entitled. It must be abandoned before Australia can become a member of the International Union.
