ANOTHER DROWNING FATALITY.
YOUTH LOSES HIS LIFE. A second drowning fatality within twenty-four hours lias to be recorded. Shortly after one o'clock yesterday afternoon, a youth named Percy Bennett, aged 17 years, was drowned off Kauri Point, near Chelsea. It appears that deceased, who was in a motor launch, dived in the company of others. He had only been in the water five minutes when he threw up his arms and sank. One of his companions immediately swam in his direction, but could find no trace of him. The body was recovered some time''later in the afternoon by the police, and taken to the morgue. It is presumed that deceased was seized with cramp, as he was a strong swimmer. Bennett resided with his parents in Montague-street, Newton, and was in the employ of Mr Pillenger, grocer, of Ml. Eden. An inquest was held this afternoon at the Criterion Hotel at 3 p.m.
