The Hon. George Fowlds, Minister for Education, accompanied by Jiis private secretary (Mr. Wi Crowe), arrived in Auckland by the through express from Wellington yesterday morning." He said: "I would like it to be clearly understood that the attendance at cadet camps is absolutely voluntary, there being no compulsion in tins respect by the Department on either the teachers or the cadets. I recognise fully that the success o&tne cadet camp depends upon the quality of the officers and the enthusiasm on their part that produces voluntary service in this matter."
