OTAHUHD raOTTING CLUB'S , SPRING MEETING. ' . The opening day's racing In connection with the Otahuhu . Trotting Clnbrs Spring Meeting took place at Epsom this afternoon. The weather Was fine but dull, and the attendance up to the average. The following I were the results:— ' I TRIAL TROT HANDICAP of 25sovs. Distance, one and a half mile. , P.. Rosie Wilkes, scratch; Moor, lsh Chief, 7s; Tarpot 7a; M»nTm.n 7 9; I Huon Bark, ?s; Merry WiU, 10s; Annie 9b. The limit mare, Maud G, was quick to settle to her work, and( as they passed the : stand the first time, had a leaa of about \ i twenty lengths from Tarpot; which was followed by Orakei and Minnie ft and then came the scratch mare, Rosie wnkes, which i was breaking badly. Harold , Hnon and Macqnarrie, having worked their way into second and third positions, and when they passed the gate Harold Hnon was in front, with Macquarrie as his nearest attendant the pair thus early having the race between them.
