After the payment of accounts amounting to £1000 liad been pajd tbero would bo a credit balance of £7610. The bank balance to the credit of Loan Account No. o was stated to be £3XJfi l!i/ti. which would he reduced to £134 0/3 by the payment of accounts amounting t<. £5102 1!)/L iJIIUiOO had bora advanced from the (Jcnrral Account, which left the Loan Account ill debt to the extent of £11.Sβ 10/1. \r-w Acts.—Among a bundle of new legiscopy of the lx>cal Autunritii's Superannuation Act. The secretary of the Harbour Hoards' Association, who forwanlpd the copy, observed that the Act applied inter alia to harbour boards, which wore empowered to establish superannuation funds under section 3 individually or under sec. ].""> collectively or in groups. Under sec. ifi powers were conferred on local authorities who had established a fund enabling, thtm to recognise the back services of old employees. No regulations governing funds had yet been made under sec. 10. The Association asked that the Hoard would consider the Act. and forward their opinion to be put before a sub-committee at an early date. The matter was referred to the Hoard in Commit t. -e. The Electric Cranes. —A cable was received from the Mi-Arthur Enginerriiig Company, London, statin;: that Uie tendi-rs for ifip electric cranes had been posted to Auckland. Appointment of Pilot' The Hoard reported from committee that th ■ resignation of Captain Sainty had been accepted, and they recommended tbat he should lie paid six months' salary as from December 31. The committee also recommended that applications should be invited for the position e-f pilot aud assistant harbour master at a salary of £325 a year. The matter was referred back to the Board in committee. Sale of Debentures.—The Board deckled to offer the flotation of £250.000 of the new loan of £1,000,000 to the Bank of New Zealand.
