Hearst, the millionaire newspaper proprietor, for | alleged libel contained in his speech made at Memphis last month, in which he described Haskell as the tool of the Stan- j dard Oil Trust. I Mr. Hearst evaded service of the writ i until last night, when the sheriff of Nebraska, on being refused admission to Mr. Hearst's private railway saloon ear, which was standing on a siding at Ottaha, broke into the car while Hearst and his wife were retiring tor the night, and served the writ on him. On September 21st. Mr. Hearst created a treat sensation by declaring that Senator Foraker and Mr. J. C. Sibley, Republican politicians. Senator Bailey (Democrat), and Governor C. N. Haskell, Governor of Oklahoma, and treasurer of the Democratic National Fund, were the servile tools of the Standard Oil Trust.
